Institute’s Women’s Residential Treatment Program

Clearwater, Florida

Women’s relationships with borderlines, narcissists, anti-socials and socio/psychopaths are the most damaging of all relationships. That’s because of the unique behaviors of their partners who have pathological disorders. These behaviors in the women’s partners include:

  • criminal behavior and violation of social norms
  • deceitfulness (lying, use of alias, conning others for pleasure/profit)
  • impulsivity
  • irritability and aggressiveness/domestic violence
  • verbally aggressive
  • high fatality risks/those most likely to kill
  • reckless behavior/safety risks for others
  • recurrent DUIs/speeding violations
  • irresponsibility (financial, parental, work, relational)
  • lack conscience, guilt, remorse and rationalizes behavior
  • abandonment issues resulting in emotional hostage-taking
  • unstable and dramatic relationships
  • identity disturbances and chameleon-like behavior
  • addictive/compulsive behaviors (substance, gambling, )
  • hyper sexuality, sexual addiction, and infidelity
  • emotional instability
  • paranoid ideation
  • often stalking behavior
  • grandiosity while putting others down
  • interpersonally exploitative
  • most likely to have co-morbid addictions and other mental health issues

Relationships that have these characteristics as a base of behavior are what we refer to as ‘inevitable harm’ to the partners, family, friends and children of.

50% of the partners will show signs of stress disorders including PTSD.

The Institute is the leading treatment provider of Pathological Love Relationship Aftermath symptoms and the hyper-temperament traits of those who have been attracted to, and tolerant of, some of the most disordered of partners.  We are the developer of a unique Model of Care Approach for Pathological Love Relationships which includes assessments, outpatient counseling, peer support coaching, online support groups, and the largest line of self produced products related to Pathological Love Relationships.

Women leaving these pathological relationships often need help with the issues of ‘Intensity of Attachment’ that have increased her sensation of attachment and confusion of what ‘intensity’ in a pathological relationship ‘is’ and how it is generated.  Language and meaning distortions often seen in pathological relationships communication patterns add to the dramatic and erratic relationship dynamics.   His lethality risks, low insight, high impulsivity, and little sustained positive behavioral change coupled with his charm, charisma and conning, all create a dynamic of disaster.

Unusual dynamics related to the pathological individuals natural inclination to induce trance, hypnotic suggestions and suggestibility increase the partner’s subtle mind-control-like reactions (especially in the psychopathy ranges). When coupled with her low harm avoidance, PTSD reactions of dissociation and hyper vigilance, the combination creates a unique treatment focus.

The most common disorders associated with Pathological Love Relationships are:

  • PTSD
  • Other stress related disorders
  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Obsessional thinking
  • Intrusive thoughts
  • Coercion/mind-control like symptoms
  • Eventual medical conditions such as Auto-Immune Disorders
